Frank Provenzano Jr.

A Tribute

Born May 1, 1963, and raised in Dongan Hills, Frank was the only child of Frank and Mary Provenzano.  He loved to play his guitar and channel his inner musician.  As he grew, his passion grew, and his talent became apparent through his performances.

Some of us knew Frank during years in New Dorp High School; others had the privilege of meeting him later in life.  Shortly after high school, Frank created an all-original band called Pressure Point forming life-long friendships, relationships and memories.

Music came naturally to Frank; his gift was the ability to hear things that were not apparent to others lending to his success as the owner and founder of Pro Sho Sound.  Ironically, it was through his love for music and his company that Frank met the love of his life, Allison Hellow while she was performing.

In 2006, Steven Line put together a New Dorp High School reunion dinner for all musicians from the school’s band classes spanning several graduating years.  It was then that 19 musicians volunteered to be a part of the first fundraiser to benefit the then Staten Island University Hospital’s Cancer Center.  Hence the band’s name; Project 19.  Frank opted not to be on stage as a musician, but instead took on the role of Executive Producer, knocking it out of the park with sound, lighting and special effects.

In 2021, a conversation was had between Frank, Steven and Allison and “Classic Playback” was born.

Sadly, on March 30, 2022, Frank lost his battle with cancer.  Looking back on his life and career, “Classic Playback” will continue his legacy by giving back to communities.

Forever in our hearts….
